SKIN RESURFACING

PIXELATED (Erbium) LASER (PIXEL™ )

The Pixel is an advanced skin laser used in skin resurfacing - the laser pulses to create tiny ablative zones, targeting the epidermis and upper dermis. The treatment then triggers the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the growth of new, healthy skin tissue. Pixel™ is a type of fractional ablative laser treatment which is more aggressive than a Photofacial, but produces much more powerful results.

This treatment improves skin texture and tone, smoothes wrinkles, and effectively diminishes sun damage, age spots, and scarring. In short, this procedure erases those factors that add years to our appearance, and restores your complexion back to its ideal youthful state.

We strongly suggest having one of our vitamin A facials before a skin resurfacing treatment to reduce downtime and improve results. Remember to discuss this with your aesthetician.

Before your first treatment, you will have a complimentary medical evaluation by one of our expert technicians. If required, one of our doctors will do an assessment to ensure that your treatment plan is optimal for your skin type. Your technician will also discuss precare with you.

What should I do before my Pixel™ treatment?

  • No sun tanning or extensive sun exposure for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your treatment. We suggest that you use one of our medical grade sunscreens to protect your skin during this time and to ensure longer lasting, radiant skin.

  • The use of self-tan should not be used 2 weeks before treatment, and any residual self-tan should be removed before your appointment.

  • No Accutane in the past 6 months and no topical Retinoids for 4 weeks.

  • Please inform your technician if you are prone to cold sore outbreaks.

What can I expect after my treatment?

  • You can expect your skin to be red for up to one week, followed by peeling for the next few days.

  • Your skin may feel warm & tender - similar to a sunburn.

Should I choose Pixel™ or IPL (Photofacial)

  • Your technician will assess your skin type and recommend a treatment modality which will provide you with the best results according to your skincare goals.

  • Pixel treatment provides much more powerful results, but is a more aggressive treatment with more downtime

  • Remember to book your Vitamin A Facial to reduce downtime and improve results.
